Homeschooling — Can I Do It?

Many parents would like to homeschool their children but are afraid they don’t have the training or ability to be their children’s teacher. This is certainly understandable, because many parents never had any formal training to be a teacher. However, most parents don’t have to worry about this issue.
There is literally a supermarket of education resources available for parents to choose from to help them homeschool their children. These include low-cost Internet private schools that take most of the homeschooling burden off parents’ backs. There are also hundreds of low-cost instruction books on how to teach your child reading, math, and many other subjects. These are available in most libraries and great book stores like Barnes View the rest of this article

Care For Your Bedwetting Child's Skin

Bedwetting has few serious side effects, but one of the physical discomforts it may cause is skin problems. Urine is a mix of fluid and waste chemicals from the body. When left on skin for a few hours in the night, it can irritate. Skin may appear red initially, and may turn sore and flaky if the skin is not treated. The skin will also thicken if the irritation is not treated, eventually turning wrinkled and pale. Although not dangerous, this type of skin irritation can be very painful for a child.
Skin problems can affect any child who wets the bed, but the problem is more aggravated in those who wet the bed often and in those who wear absorbent products to collect the urine. Genitals and buttocks can be affected. In those who wear absorbent underpants, the leg View the rest of this article

Mortgage Application Tips

Get a comfortable table or desk and spend the time to fill out

your mortgage application neatly and correctly. If you are

given a paper application at the bank or credit union, ask

permission to bring it home and complete the application when

you are not under pressure, and have all of your documents

handy. If you are doing it online, use extra caution, watching

out for mistypes, misspellings and make sure that you put the

correct info into the correct form fields.

One way to smoothly go through the mortgage application process

is to create your own application package approximately one year

and no later than six months prior to applying for a residential

Organizing Your Home: Kitchen, Pt. 3

So now you have cleaned off counters, only the appliances you need and love, and a shiny sink. You are on your way! Remember—small steps get the jobs done!
7. Take a look at your cabinets. Are they clean? I’m not talking about the insides (yet!), but the outsides. If they have built-up grime on them, take a cleaner and rag and wipe them down. You’ll be amazed at how different they look and how dirty that rag will be!
8. Now let’s talk about the front of your large appliances. Fingerprints are fingerprints—it doesn’t matter if it’s on an avocado-colored refrigerator or a chrome-colored one. Take some window-cleaner and 5 minutes on each appliance and spray ‘em down. Wipe them clean, and don’t forget the small crevices where crumbs hide. Remember—you’re not doi View the rest of this article

Tight Lines, Writers!

"Tight lines" is a good luck wish among fishermen. When you've

hooked a fish, your line tightens up.

I was musing on this expression as my husband critiqued my

lousy casting skills on our latest fishing expedition.

Anthony's as accurate a caster as they come. He can pinpoint a

particular far-away reed and cast an inch in front of it.

We were going for bass, and he explained that bass like to hide

out on the perimeters of a lake, under rocks and in between

plants. Problem is, I can't pinpoint anything. I aim my pole

right and the line somehow flies left. I aim fifty feet away

and it somehow shoots straight up in the air and plunks down
