There are two stylistic approaches of Italian and English Baroque which can be distinguished as âconservativeâ and âprogressiveâ at the same time. Each of the stylistic tendencies has strong classic elements; however in the previous there is a superior determination to smash determinedly with the traditional techniques of the Renaissance. As a result, the conservative trend stresses a greater sense of idealized form and calm, while the progressive has more impassioned, individual expression. There are some opposing trends more brightly put together than in some Roman architectsâ careers like Francesco Borromini and Gianlorenzo Bernini. The flexibility of the use of the term âBaroque architectsâ causes a concrete conceptual imprecision.
