Friends or Popularity

The novel “Walking Naked “tells the story of a girl, who is torn between friendships. She has to make the choice between the group, which brings attention and respect, and “The Freak”, who is real friend but staying with him means isolation, the thing that is the most fearful for Megan. Such girls as Megan can not stand loneliness and isolation, as they are in habit of being in the center of everybody’s attention. They can not function without group and always move out all the others who are the obstacle for them. Both texts explore the feelings and scares of the girls, having similar styles and ways of living. The only difference is that Cady is a new person in the school and Megan is staying at school, where everybody is bullying, for a long time.
